How do I get started?
Call or contact us for an initial free consult. Feel free to bring a friend. We will review our body slimming program and the science behind it, and answer any questions you may have. We will also provide you with the complete clinical information that discusses why Shima-Lipo works, including before and after pictures and data. We will be happy to send the clinical information to your physician at your request. You may also pick up a New Client Intake Consult Package. These forms may be picked up, mailed, or emailed to you, and must be completed and signed before we can schedule your first session.
Prior to my sessions I should?
Have a light meal about 2-4 hours prior to your appointment (and for 1-2 hours after), and avoid caffeine, sugar and alcohol on the day of your treatment. You’ll also need to drink plenty of water to maximize your treatment so aim for a minimum of 98 ounces during the 24 hours during and after your session.
What do I wear?
Gym wear is optional but highly recommended. Remember, your Shima-Lipo technician will need to place the 4 laser paddles stimulators so you may need to remove your outer clothing. Modesty towels and robes will be provided for your comfort.(A loose fitting two piece swim suit for women and similar one piece for men is ideal.) Please refrain from body lotions and heavy colognes.
How many treatments are required?
This depends on the individual needs and/or area(s) to be treated. A recommendation of expected number of treatments will be given during the initial consultation. Scheduled treatment sessions of two to three times per week are recommended. Diet modification and exercise are recommended but it is important to remember that the LipoLaser can help you contour and sculpt those places that do not respond to exercise and diet, as well as improve your cellulite and your overall appearance. The LipoLaser helps tighten the skin as fat is lost by stimulating collagen and elastin production. This skin tightening is an important benefit and works well with a weight loss or post-surgical program to help prevent saggy skin rolls.
Are the results permanent?
It is as permanent as exercise.
Does it hurt?
No. Most clients feel nothing, although a slight warming of the skin under the laser paddles may be noticed towards the end of the sessions.
How much Fat will I lose?
It is hard to determine how much fat you will lose. This is variable on the number of treatments you do, the amount of fat you have to lose (size), your current health and daily activity, and how you detox during the program. Generally speaking you should lose 6.5 Inches in 12 visits – AVERAGE – with minor lifestyle changes 9.25 inches in 18 visits – AVERAGE – with serious lifestyle changes. Record lost with least amount of sessions is 52 inches total, in 24 sessions.
How long does Shima-Lipo take?
Your initial appointment will be 30-45 minutes with returns at about 20 minutes. You will have time to discuss your requirements with your therapist, you will be weighed and measured and then spend 20-30 minutes on the Shima-Lipo, followed by a 10 minute whole body vibration workout. To ensure the most successful outcome 9 to 12 sessions, one every 2-4 days over the course of 4-5 weeks must be committed to. There is no upper limit to the number sessions or number of body locations that may be treated
Do I have to have two or three days in between my sessions?
Yes. The 2-3 day break allows your body to completely metabolize the maximum amount of released fat cell contents.
If I buy now, when can I book an appointment?
Our aim is to see clients as quickly as possible. If you book now you should be able to start your course within 2-3 days, depending on the time of day you require your appointments. After work and weekends are our busiest time. Remember, you must complete and return the intake/consult forms before your first session can be scheduled.
LIPO LASER VS. ULTRASONIC LIPO
The main difference between the two modalities is the "Mechanism of Action". The LipoLaser uses Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT) in the form of a 658nm Diode Laser to cause transitory pores in the adipose (fat) cells, while the Ultrasonic Lipo Cavitation device uses Ultrasound to achieve the same outcome. Both modalities, according to studies, do not destroy the tissue but simply disrupt the cell causing the internal contents to leak: free fatty acids, water & glycerine. Yes this treatment is great for both Abdominal and Love handle area. Some patients see a better reaction with the LipoLaser, others see a better result with the ultrasonic device so it is really how your body reacts to the treatments that best determine what device to continue treatments on.
What if I am late or need to reschedule a session?
Please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to your appointment. Because of Shima-Lipo’s popularity Clients arriving 15 minutes late may not be accommodated. We have a 24 hour cancellation policy and a $25.00 no show fee. We do understand , however, that things happen. Please call, text, or email us as soon as you can if you need to reschedule a session.
There are 4 laser paddles. Can I do one on arms, one on stomach, and one on legs?
No, you need to select one body area for each 8 treatment sessions. Stomach, thighs, arms, bingo wings, back, chins, muffin tops, above knees and boobs (male beasts)! After a 2 week break you may schedule another 8 sessions for another area of your body.
Is this similar to the commercials I see for Sonobello?
No we are nothing like SonoBello. SonoBello uses invasive surgical lipo with an incision, pain and bruising, our technologies are non-invasive, non-surgical with no pain or bruising.
I am 5’5 and roughly 135-140 lbs and tend to carry my weight in my stomach area. I saw the Living Social deal today about the I-lipo and was interested but didn't know if two treatments would be enough. I’m not overweight but was reading where a lot of people would lose a couple inches after just 1 treatment. I know everyone is different but was asking more more generally in your experience. Also, I have heard with regular liposuction when you have an area worked on that the fat cells will not grow in that area but will find other areas if you don’t keep up with it. Is that true as well with the Shima-lipo?
Great question and here is the best answer we can provide based on the information above. First off, fat cells stop duplicating after puberty so there is no "growth" of the cells returning to the body ever with both the lipolaser and traditional lipo. From Puberty onward your Adipose (fat cells) will have the same count. It is only the shrinking and expanding of those cells that occurs throughout ones lifetime. Traditional Liposuction will remove the cells from the problem area. This is done through surgery and yes there will be a reduction in the count of adipose cells in the area treated permanently. The Lipolaser does not destroy the cell, nor does it remove the cell, it simply causes the elements within the cell to purge (glycerine, free fatty acids and water.) thus causing the cell to shrink. We typically see inch loss in the area, however, a healthy lifestyle and diet are also needed to keep it off. Regardless of the choice you go with (lipolaser or traditional lipo / abdominalplasty) both will help attain results in your problem area.
cheeks and jaw
Q--I have excessive fat around my cheek and jaw area. Is there any specific and safe treatment that your team offers to reduce this?A--The lipolaser will assist in this fat loss, however, you may need a surgical solution depending on the severity of the fat. Also, carrying heavy weight in the neck area can increase your chances of stroke significantly and we would encourage you to get on a healthy low glycemic diet plan and detox immediately to jump start the process.
Can you get the Lipolaser treatment if you have medical conditions like Type 2 Diabetes and High Blood Pressure or
We would need to know what current medications you are on and more about your condition in order to better answer this. The short answer is YES, with two exceptions. If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, Lipo Laser procedures should not be used. Additionally, if you have a pacemaker, this treatment may not be for you. There are no known detrimental risks but potential unknown risks may exist. Lipo sculpture may not be as effective on patients with diabetes or thyroid disorders where the metabolic system is potentially impaired.
Does Lipo laser treatment would work on me if I have a lot of loose skin from rapid weight loss ?
No the LipoLaser does not work on Loose Skin. I would suggest a RF (Radio Frequency) treatment. The Lipo Laser is only proven to shrink fat cells and remove fat not to tighten the skin.
Will results be visibly noticeable after 1 treatment or does it take several to see any results at all?
Yes, One treatment should yield a result.
I have fluid retention triggered by food sensitivities that doesn’t seem to want to go away. Would this help trigger some of that to be flushed off?
If fluid retention is being triggered, the fluid retention will continue. The laser may help temporarily, however, the retention may come back.
I just had a baby and am still nursing, May I use the laser?
As soon as your are done nursing we can schedule you on the laser. We cannot place you on the laser while nursing as it is a contraindication.
What are Your Alternatives?
Lipo Suction Surgery • Cost - $4,500 to $10,000 • 1 week off work for recovery v • Follow up skin removal surgery - $2,000 • Fat gets stored in weird places after lipo • Risks- Scarring to Death • Some cannot even do it because of meds • Lumpy and choppy results
Lap Band - Similar risks and cost to lipo - but no guaranteed results, you still have to eat less and exercise
Gastric Bypass - Similar risks and cost to lipo - but you have to eat A LOT less, and if you don't, you could literally die from over eating.
Dangerous Drugs - Again, similar risks to lipo - but even more possible side effects. EVERY SINGLE DRUG that has ever been FDA approved, and been on the market long enough, has been riddled with long term side effects, never known when the FDA first approved it.
Gimmicky Supplements - We have seen the advertisements, read the newspaper ads, heard the radio jingles, but they all have one thing in common, no proven results.
Diet and Exercise - We know how well this works - minimal to no results, hard work and lots of effort, often causing us to lose motivation to continue. Thus, rarely producing any kind of result at all.
